Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems
TPMS in Bristol - Sam's Tyres & Autocentre
A Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is a safety feature that is designed to continuously monitor the air pressure in your vehicle’s tyres and alert you if it drops below the recommended level. It helps improve safety, fuel efficiency and tyre lifespan by ensuring that your tyres remain properly inflated.
There are two main types of TPMS:
Direct TPMS
This uses pressure sensors inside each tyre to measure the real-time air pressure and send alerts to the driver if a tyre is underinflated.
Indirect TPMS
This type works through the ABS system, detecting changes in wheel rotation speed to estimate pressure loss.
If the TPMS warning light appears on your dashboard, it means one or more tyres may be underinflated. The best thing to do is to get in touch with our team at Sam's Tyres & Autocentre so that we can check your tyre pressure and top them up as required.
Your TPMS sensors need regular maintenance to make sure that they function correctly and so if you experience issues, do give us a call on 0117 955 5513. We have industry-leading diagnostic technology at our workshop in Bristol which will diagnose the issue and allow us to rectify it and then reset the TPMS system. We can usually supply, fit and programme tyre pressure sensors within the hour.
Sam's Tyres & Autocentre is pleased to be approved by the DVSA and affiliated with the Institute of the Motor Industry, the leading professional association for motor-industry professionals.
